We all think we know what sugar daddies and sugar babies are. I use to think that the girls my age, and younger, who had the expensive clothes and cars were just spoiled daddy's little girl...little did I know that it really was a daddy dearest picking up the tab, just not their biological daddy.
It might not be ideal for most, but it pays and sometimes develops into something meaningful. Before we move onto the ins and outs of the Sugar Baby Lifestyle, mine in particular, we have to put aside all the stereotypes that are normally associated with the Sugar Baby-Sugar Daddy arrangements.
S-E-X
No, sex does not have to be involved. Yes, there are some men who are using their cash to essentially buy legal and continuous sex from young women and there are some Sugar Babies who are okay with that type of arrangement. However, there is a small population of TRUE Sugar Daddies. I'm talking about the Sugar Daddies that want you as arm candy and a companion to enjoy the fruits of their labor, no strings, whips, chains attached. It does get lonely at the top, why not share it? Obviously the best Sugar Daddies are the ones who don't want sex, but want to help a young girl financially and provide her with new experiences she can't simply afford at the tender age of twenty-something in exchange for a meaningful mentor-apprentice type of relationship. I digress into a dreamworld of a dream Sugar Daddy... Anyway, some people get a kick out of that type of relationship. Those people are usually lonely and have too much money on their hands. Us poor folk can not understand that concept, therefore we include the "she must be spreading her legs" in order to wrap our brains around it. Sorry to break it to you all, but that 60-something with that 20-something might have had a platonic relationship that warrants jealousy.
The Art of Sugaring
Now in order to be a Sugar Baby, you have to understand a few key concepts. Sugaring is an art. It's just as strict and difficult to master as the Geisha arts. That sounded pretentious, but it's the truth. A Sugar Baby's purpose is NOT to provide sex. She provides an experience; the experience of being with a younger woman who makes the Sugar Daddy feel good about himself. She makes him feel desirable, important, and most importantly, needed. He is NOT needed. Most Sugar Babies are intelligent and can fend for themselves. They just understand that they have a perishable commodity, youth and looks, that these rich Sugar Daddies do not have but want to add to the collection of things they do have. Sugar Babies need to keep up with their Sugar Daddies (and his friends), meaning she needs to be a hostess and entertain them with her intelligence and personality. If she was stupid, it just makes the Sugar Daddy look like an even bigger pervert and just bad overall. He's use to the best and wants to reflect that in everything he has, even in his Sugar Baby. Of course he'll sleep with a stupid Sugar Baby! Who wouldn't?! However, her days are numbered after that. The higher the IQ, chances are the longer you'll be a kept woman.
Now onto morality...
Men are applauded for bagging and shagging the best looking women. It's a badge of honor to use your resources to get what you want. It's a sign of resourcefulness, much like how McGyver can turn a rubber band and a paper clip into a weapon. Most Sugar Daddies are old and/or unattractive, but they use the assets they do have to achieve what they want. Let's flip it over now. When women do the same thing, it's seen as morally wrong and she's deemed a prostitute. A young Sugar Baby's disadvantage is her finances. She has just started her life, how can she afford to do what she has always dreamt of doing? Her asset is her youth. She knows it will be gone sooner or later and she believes she deserves a certain quality of life, why not capitalize on her assets to achieve her goals? Is that not resourcefulness as well?
